Dental Implant FAQs
We’ve compiled a few of the questions that come up most often when consulting with patients about the dental implant procedure.
What are the Dental Implants Procedure Steps?
The dental implant process can take anywhere from six to eight months, but it’s different for each unique patient. The first step is a consultation. At this appointment, we evaluate your teeth and determine the next steps for moving forward with your implants. Cases of missing teeth can cause in some patients a high loss of bone density, which can lead to complications in the implants process. A bone graft can usually fix this issue. The next step is placing the implant, which looks similar to a screw with its grooved ridges. These ridges allow for the implant to fuse to the jaw bone and gum tissue. Once this has healed, we can place the restoration—be it a crown, bridge, or even dentures—that will replace your missing teeth. You can now enjoy the benefits of a seamlessly blended smile that’s as good as new.
How Long Do Dental Implants Last?
With the proper care, dental implants can last you a lifetime. Proper care includes treating your implants just like your natural teeth. Even the prosthetic restorations need to be brushed two times each day for two minutes both times and undergo a daily flossing session. Without the proper care, you might need to have your restoration replaced. If that’s the case, we’ve got your back. We not only place implants but help restore them, too.
How Much Do Dental Implants Cost?
The cost of dental implants varies from person to person. When you come in for your initial consultation, we’ll evaluate your smile needs and be sure to provide you with an accurate estimate for your procedure. To help fit your dental implant costs into your budget, we provide a variety of financial options. You can discover your options here.
