How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign moves teeth gradually and gently to give you a brand-new smile in an average of about a year. The process is relatively simple. To begin your treatment, come in to our office for a consultation. We’ll discuss your smile goals with you to determine if Invisalign is right for you. If it is, we’ll work with you to design your dream smile with our computer software, and we’ll take impressions of your teeth. The smile design and impressions are all sent to a lab that will create your first sets of Invisalign trays.
The trays are made of a clear, thin, plastic material. You’ll work your way through a series of trays that slowly shift your teeth until you reach your goal. Check in with us every 4-6 weeks. Once we make sure everything is looking okay, we’ll send you home with your next two sets of trays. Switch the trays out every two weeks until you’ve reached the end of your treatment. Average treatment time is about a year, but we’ll discuss your unique situation at your consultation.
Benefits of Invisalign
Compared to traditional metal braces, Invisalign offers wearers a number of great benefits.
- Clear material means trays are virtually invisible
- Smooth plastic doesn’t cut or irritate cheeks and gums
- Trays can be removed to eat, drink, brush, and floss
- You won’t have to check in with us as frequently
- Treatment time is shorter – only about a year in most cases
Are You an Invisalign Candidate?
If your teeth are crooked, crowded, or gapped, Invisalign could be the perfect way for you to get the straight smile you’ve always dreamed of. The only way to find out if you’re a good Invisalign candidate, though, is for you to visit with Dr. McCord and the Mint Dental Care team. We can go over your case and your goals and help you determine if Invisalign is right for your needs, lifestyle, and budget.
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
Speaking of budgets, you may be concerned that the cost of Invisalign treatment will make it unrealistic for you. Before we begin your treatment, we’ll sit down with you to go over your expected costs and the financial options available to you. We understand that all of our patients have their own unique budgets, and we work hard to respect your budget and work within it to give you the care you need. We gladly accept CareCreditSM patient financing, which works like a credit card for your healthcare expenses. Our in-house dental membership plan provides discounts on many of our services.
